Reformed Christian Fellowship

About Us

Horizon Reformed Christian Fellowship (Horizon) is an independent Christian Reformed Baptist Church. We seek to glorify God by proclaiming the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and equipping His people through the faithful preaching and teaching of His Word (Holy Bible), from Genesis to Revelation.

Horizon was founded by three families at the Sorrento Community Hall on 7 July 2013. The church was born out of a need and desire for faithful and deep preaching and teaching of the Word of God.

To be “reformed” basically means to hold God’s Word, the Bible, as the final authority for our beliefs and practices. When it comes to our salvation, how we worship and serve God, do church, and live out our Christianity, we strive to do so by placing ourselves under the authority of the Scriptures (alone), living by faith (alone) in Christ (alone), relying on God’s grace (alone), for God’s glory (alone).

We therefore seek to live Christ centred and God glorying lives, in accordance with His Word and with the guidance and enabling of the Holy Spirit.

Reformed churches have historically held to confessions of faith that give expression to their convictions about what the Bibles teaches. Our confession of faith as a church generally aligns with and substantially draws from the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith, which largely agrees with the Westminster Confession of faith. We also align with the orthodox creeds of Christianity, including the Apostles Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed.
